Calvert-Lewin swoop on cards at Leeds amid ‘unquestionable’ Premier League need
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has emerged as a potential signing for Leeds United ahead of the summer transfer window.
Leeds are in for a massive summer after ending their two-year wait to return to the Premier League, with even a managerial change on the cards.
Daniel Farke faces an uncertain future as the Whites’ boss despite leading them back to the top flight in only his second season in charge of them.
The Elland Road outfit could fork out over £100million to prepare themselves to survive in the Premier League.

Calvert-Lewin may swap Everton for Leeds
Leeds could make as many as eight signings ahead of their return to the Premier League, with several positions to be strengthened.
Assessing the Peacocks’ squad, George Simms has raised concerns over Joel Piroe’s ability to replicate his goalscoring prowess in the top flight, despite netting 19 times in the Championship this season.
Therefore, the journalist stressed the need for the West Yorkshire outfit to sign a centre-forward with an ‘unquestionable’ top-tier quality.
He mooted the possibility of signing Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer, with suggested Danny Ings as an alternative option.
“Bringing in a striker of unquestionable Premier League quality would provide Leeds with a key asset for survival”, Simms wrote on The i website (22 April).
“Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be available on a free, while West Ham’s Danny Ings is another possible option.”

Piroe to get Premier League chance
Considering the task ahead of time, signing Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer makes sense for Leeds and their pocket.
The Englishman has only three goals and two assists to show for 22 league appearances this season, but it is worth noting that his campaign has been derailed by fitness issues and uncertainty over his future.
Calvert-Lewin scored 16 goals in the Premier League the last time he remained injury-free for most of the season.

Ings, though, is a rather underwhelming option for the Whites, considering he has struggled for playing time at West Ham this season.
Meanwhile, signing a new striker does mean Leeds will entirely give up on Piroe, who deserves a chance to shine in the Premier League after his involvement on the road to promotion.
