Callum O’Hare closes in on new transfer as Leeds United update emerges
Sheffield United are set to beat Leeds United to the signing of free-agent Callum O’Hare, according to Alan Nixon.
The Sun journalist reported on his Patreon page (13 July) that the Blades are set to beat the Whites to the former Coventry midfielder after days of talks.
The “Magician” will receive a significant signing-on fee and huge wages at Bramall Lane, having reportedly negotiated with other clubs – likely including the Whites – in recent days.
Leeds United must respond after failed Callum O’Hare transfer
Given Sheffield United are currently poised to begin the new season with a two-point deduction for financial fair play breaches, O’Hare choosing Bramall Lane over Elland Road is a big call to make.
The Peacocks, on the other hand, were just 90 minutes away from sealing an immediate Premier League return, and Daniel Farke’s men must ensure that automatic promotion is achieved next season.

Missing out on O’Hare means the Whites will have to find a different option, having already seen another midfielder, the out-of-contract Jamie Shackleton, head to Sheffield United too.
Shackleton couldn’t agree on a new deal with his hometown club and headed to Bramall Lane on a free transfer, with Farke looking to sign Jayden Bogle from the Blades and fill the space vacated at right-back [Mike McGrath].
Farke is far from the only manager looking to build a promotion-winning side this summer, and despite their financial difficulties, it looks as if Sheffield United will certainly be there or thereabouts.
