Bundesliga clubs want to sign Tyler Adams after Leeds United relegation - Fabrizio Romano
Bundesliga clubs are ready to “attack the situation” and try to sign Tyler Adams this summer after Leeds were relegated, says Fabrizio Romano.
The Whites fell out of the top flight after three years following defeat to Tottenham on the final day of the season, but Adams hasn’t featured since undergoing hamstring surgery in March.
But his performances prior to that have impressed clubs and according to Romano on the Here We Go podcast (30 May), agents have already began approaching people to get clarity on his situation with an exit expected during the summer window.
“I’m sure there’s a lot of interest in Tyler Adams. In the Premier League and also in the Bundesliga. Some Bundesliga clubs are already thinking of the opportunity to attack the situation and sign Tyler Adams.
“I think there will be a chance for Adams to make his move because at the moment, the situation is still not advanced and nothing concrete.
“But some agents are approaching people to understand what’s going to happen, so I think for Adams there will be an opportunity.”
No shock
Adams has been one of the best performers at Elland Road this season and it’s fair to say that had he been fit for the final months of the season, that survival would have been much more likely.
But having been relegated, it’s widely accepted that he is far too good to be playing in the Championship as the captain of his country and there will be a lot of interested parties.
With Phil Hay reporting that the majority of the squad has a relegation release clause in their contract, Adams will be available for a relatively moderate fee compared to what the club would demand had they stayed in the top flight.
It’s no shock that the player is going to have a bunch of interest, and it’ll be less of a shock that teams and agents are already making moves to get him in at their clubs.
Whoever wants him will likely need to move quickly, and Leeds have to be prepared to replace him when he does eventually go.
