Bundesliga clubs want to sign Leeds United target Edouard Michut from Paris Saint-Germain

Leeds United have fresh competition in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut after Bundesliga clubs joined the hunt, according to Dominik Schneider.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (9 August), the Football Transfers Germany journalist reports that Augsburg and Hoffenheim have both enquired about the French youngster.

Leeds are also mentioned as still being in the race for the player who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, but no official offers have been made as PSG wait to make their final decision on his future.

“Two Bundesliga clubs show interest in Edouard Michut from PSG,” he wrote.

“Hoffenheim and Augsburg have inquired about possibilities of loan or transfer.

“Leeds United still in the race. No concrete offer yet, waiting for PSG.”

If Leeds want to get this deal done then they need to be the ones to make the first move with a concrete offer to PSG to get the ball rolling.

Michut showed last season that he could more than cope with the level of physicality in the Championship as he shone for Sunderland en route to the playoffs.

His future at PSG is all but decided after he was left in Paris instead of going on the pre-season tour of Asia and it seems as though they are just waiting for the right offer to come in.

He knows the league and the country, and under Farke and alongside Ethan Ampadu he could really slot in as an excellent option to bolster our midfield.

Bundesliga competition won’t be easy to compete against but financially we’re in a good place which helps with any offers and he will get regular minutes here too. We have a chance, but we have to move quickly for it.
