Brighton stance emerges on move for Georginio Rutter after Leeds United reject £30m bid
Brighton are considering returning with a fresh offer for Georginio Rutter after they had a £30million bid rejected, according to talkSPORT.
Writing on their website (2 July), the news outlet report that the Seagulls had a “cheeky” offer rejected less than 48 hours after completing the signing of Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle for £33million.
Brighton want to strengthen their attacking options this summer and are now considering whether to make a new bid for the French forward, who registered 16 assists last season, or pursue other targets.
Leeds United must keep Georginio Rutter at Elland Road
The summer transfer window is going to be very difficult to navigate for Daniel Farke and the 49ers this summer, because the squad is so talented.
Archie Gray has already moved on and there is huge interest in players like Crysencio Summerville and Illan Meslier from Champions League clubs [Daily Mail, 29 June].
But even beyond that the likes of Ilia Gruev, Ethan Ampadu, Wilfried Gnonto and Joel Piroe have all been linked with an exit, which would totally rip the club up and leave a very difficult task for Farke ahead as he wants to claim promotion back to the Premier League.

Rutter was a key member of the team last season and after signing in a £36million club-record deal just 18 months ago, £30m was never going to be enough to get a deal done.
The Whites need to stand firm as best as they can to keep their squad together, but if Brighton come back in with big money then it will be very difficult to just say no.
In other Leeds news, the club are set to lose a chunk of any transfer fee they receive for one player this summer.
