Brighton make final decision on Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville after transfer update

Brighton have ruled themselves out of the transfer chase for Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reported on 9 July that despite holding serious talks for the Dutchman, the Premier League side are now out of the race.

The likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are all still said to be vying for the transfer of the winger.

What this means for Leeds United and Crysencio Summerville

When the summer window first opened, Summerville’s name was the one that was being thrown around the most in terms of an Elland Road exit.

The West Yorkshire club needed to make a big sale to abide by the EFL’s PSR regulations for the 2023/24 season.

Fortunately for Daniel Farke’s men, they managed to offload academy graduate Archie Gray to Tottenham for £40million in a huge deal.

This put them in line with the required threshold they needed to be at and allowed the club to find themselves in a far stronger negotiating position than what they were before the sale.

This has meant that Paraag Marathe has been able to demand more for his star talent and even reject a £30million bid for Georginio Rutter.

Although there is still plenty of the window to go and a plethora of teams interested in adding Summerville to their ranks, at the moment it looks as if he’s set to stay.
