Brenden Aaronson to leave Leeds United for Union Berlin on loan with option to buy
Brenden Aaronson has agreed to join Union Berlin from Leeds on loan with an option to make the move permanent next summer, according to talkSPORT.
The Whites were relegated from the Premier League and the 22-year-old attacker immediately made it clear he would be looking to leave the club in order to play at a higher level.
Now a move has been agreed to take him to the Bundesliga with Champions League side Union Berlin, and according to talkSPORT (4 July) there is an option to make the move permanent should he do well.

“Leeds midfielder Brenden Aaronson has agreed a move away from the club following their relegation from the Premier League,” they wrote.
“The USA international will join German side Union Berlin this summer, talkSPORT understands.
“The 22-year-old ace will join the Bundesliga club on an initial loan deal with the option of a permanent transfer next summer.”
Smart
There was said to be a release clause in Aaronson’s contract after our relegation to the Championship that would have seen him become available for a cut-price fee.
But the 49ers were involved in the deal to bring him in and obviously want him to be part of the club going forward.

If Leeds are able to earn promotion at the first chance once again then there is every chance that he could return to Elland Road next season and put himself back into the first-team fold.
If the team don’t earn promotion, or the player decides he doesn’t want to return then a fee will be agreed in advance to let him leave and it will go towards the budget and finances for next season.
It’s sensible and leaves the door open for all parties depending on performances and achievements, and everyone is happy with the outcome for now.
