Brenden Aaronson could return to Leeds after his loan spell if the club get promoted

Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson, who recently sealed a loan move to Union Berlin, could return to Elland Road following his loan spell if the club are competing in the Premier League, according to Beren Cross of LeedsLive.

Cross shared during a question and answer session on LeedsLive [19 July] that, of all of Leeds’ loaned-out stars this season, Aaronson would be the one who could make a return to the club in the future if he comes back to prove himself in England.

It was stated that the American would need to impress while on loan, with Cross stating “he really would have to pull up trees” although an extra year in Germany could see him improve his physicality, which would set him up for a Premier League return.

Aaronson could yet prove himself

The main issue during Aaronson’s spell at Elland Road was a difficulty affecting the game due to a lack of physicality. If he can build up his frame and become more influential through his coming experience in Germany and European competition, it could put him in line for a return.

One issue is that Aaronson is one of a number of players who have left Leeds United this summer as they don’t want to play in the Championship. Are these the type of players you’d want in your side?

If they are seemingly unwilling to fight to get the club back where they belong, it could be argued they don’t deserve to feature once they’re there.

Aaronson was brought to Leeds United by Jesse Marsch as part of an influx of American and RB Salzburg-centred players, so it is unclear how well he would suit a new-look Farke team if he did return to the club next season.

Out of all the players who have left on loan, including Diego Llorente, Robin Koch and Marc Roca, Aaronson does seem the most likely to make a return to Leeds United.

In other Leeds United news, the mass exodus of stars can be seen as a positive compared to struggles elsewhere.
