Brenden Aaronson arrives in England to complete Leeds United medical

Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson has jetted into England to undergo a medical with Leeds United on Thursday (26 May), according to Tom Bogert.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday night (25 May), the MLS and Guardian journalist reported that Aaronson, 21, will “officially complete” his £23.8million move to Elland Road.

It is understood that the deal is going to be finalised before Aaronson has to join up with the USA national team for their upcoming friendly matches.

Getting it done early

Victor Orta has received a lot of criticism this season – and rightly so.

His big-money signings in the Premier League have simply not worked out with Rodrigo, Daniel James and Junior Firpo all failing to impress despite what was spent on them.

Diego Llorente and Robin Koch have been so-so too, with most of Leeds’ best players in the Premier League being ones who were already at the club in the Championship.

Raphinha’s the only proper exception for Orta right now – so let’s hope Aaronson joins the Brazilian winger in also being one of the Spaniard’s masterstrokes at Elland Road.

Aaronson is 21-years-old, a full USA international, is an attacking midfielder, has been in great form at Red Bull Salzburg, has won titles and even impressed against Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this year.

We’re praying he’ll be a hit at Elland Road and even if he doesn’t light it up straight away, he’s still someone who you can say will only improve as times goes on due to his age.

He’ll no doubt slot in well with Jesse Marsch, too.

Leeds fans should be looking forward to seeing this guy in the famous white of the Yorkshire giants next season.

We definitely are.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign this defender as well as Aaronson with his transfer value soaring.
