Billy Gilmour approach mooted at Leeds United as Daniel Farke appointment set
Daniel Farke could utilise the loan market at Leeds United, with Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour, who worked with Farke at Norwich City, a potential option – according to the Yorkshire Evening Post writer Joe Donnohue.
Gilmour could be an option for Leeds United, having struggled for minutes at Brighton and Hove Albion since his arrival in 2022, but making 24 appearances when on loan at Farke’s Norwich side in the 2021/22 season.
Farke utilised the loan market frequently during his time at Carrow Road, with 18 players arriving on loan in his four-year spell at the club, with a focus on young, British midfielders including Harrison Reed, Oliver Skipp, and Gilmour. The former two are considered unrealistic due to them playing regular Premier League football.

Gilmour would be a good option for Leeds in the Championship
If Farke continues his favoured trend of utilising the loan market, a deal to bring his former player to the club would not be a bad option, despite his struggles to make an impact in the top division.
Gilmour has a season’s extra experience of Premier League football since his loan to Norwich and could thrive at a club that will be aiming to push towards the top of the season, with the freedom and possession that can come along with that prowess.

The former Chelsea midfielder has failed to make the mark on England’s premier division as many would’ve expected after his involvement (albeit sparse) in Chelsea’s Champions League winning team, with the midfielder also a regular for his national team, with 18 Scotland caps to his name.
Should Farke return for the man he had on loan previously, it could be a good opportunity for the player just as much as the team, with the deal providing benefits on both sides – Leeds get a good player, while Gilmour could get regular game time.
