‘Bielsa will make him a beast’, ‘That’s incredible’ – Many PL fans react to Leeds transfer news
Chelsea fans have been reacting on Twitter after defender Fikayo Tomori was linked with a potential move to Leeds United.
According to BBC Sport, if the 23-year-old centre-back exits Stamford Bridge on loan in the January transfer window then “the likeliest destination” is Leeds with Marcelo Bielsa needing extra bodies in his defence.
Bielsa has had to content with injury blows to Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper in recent weeks, leaving him to name right-back Luke Ayling and inexperienced Pascal Struijk in the heart of his defence.
Tomori has barely featured for Chelsea this season, appearing just three times in all competitions and making just one of Frank Lampard’s last 12 matchday squads in the Premier League.
It seems that a loan move away from the London club will do Tomori the world of good.
He’s plummeted down the pecking order from the point where he was playing for the England senior team just over a year ago, to being lucky to get named on Lampard’s bench.
Chelsea fans are understandably excited by the prospect of seeing Tomori head out on loan – especially if he was to join Leeds.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

However, there are some who do not want to see Tomori leave amid worries the one-time England international could exit permanently, rather than on loan.
Leeds can sign one more player on loan from a Premier League club but Bielsa is not a fan of the January transfer window.
Even though Tomori is a natural centre-back who’s shown his worth by getting a cap for England last year, Bielsa is going to want to stick with Ayling and Struijk over someone he’ll bring in halfway through a season.
Tomori might be a half-season loan signing who comes in to plug a gap but look at Jean-Kevin Augustin last year. He couldn’t get up to Bielsa’s standards and it’s unlikely Tomori will too.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are in pursuit of this “red-hot” French midfielder this month.
