Bielsa doesn’t want Leeds 27y/o at Thorp Arch training, player wants to leave – Phil Hay

Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t want Ouasim Bouy anywhere near Leeds United training while the club tries to reach an agreement to terminate his contract, according to Phil Hay.

Bouy, 27, joined Leeds on a free transfer in 2017 when Victor Orta signed just about every single player he’d scouted in his entire career.

Since then, the once-promising former Ajax and Juventus midfielder has failed to make a single appearance for Leeds and spent time out on loan at Cultural Leonesa and PEC Zwolle.

Although he’s still contracted to Leeds for the rest of this season, The Athletic journalist Hay reports that Bouy isn’t training at the club because Bielsa doesn’t want him around.

Hay reported earlier in the year that Bouy has been training in the Netherlands and suggested that attempts had been made to terminate his contract.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday, Hay re-iterated Leeds’ desire to bomb Bouy out of the club for good but even though the midfielder wants to leave, he won’t do so unless he’s offered a settlement that pays up his contract in full.

It’s fair to say that Orta has improved a lot during his time in charge of Leeds’ transfers.

In his first summer, he went crazy and signed any old dross he could find and Bouy has arguably turned out to be the most ridiculous addition of them all.

He hasn’t made a single matchday squad in his time on the books at Elland Road and didn’t do much of note in his two loan spells away.

The ex-Juventus midfielder’s attitude must absolutely stink as well.

He didn’t play once last year and isn’t going to play at all this year with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

It makes no sense for him to wait out that contract than quitting and trying to join another club on a free transfer where he’ll get game-time.

Some players are just happy to sit around, doing nothing and getting paid for it.

Bouy just doesn’t see the bigger picture.

If he left last year and had some of his contract paid out by Leeds then he could be at a new club by now, playing and earning money.

Who’s going to want him next summer when he’s a free agent who hasn’t played for over two years simply because of greed?

In other Leeds United news, this player who Leeds tried to sign in the summer is set to sign for West Ham.
