Bids tabled for Leeds United ace Summerville as ITV commentator drops mid-game update

Rangers and Blackburn Rovers have submitted loan bids to sign Leeds United winger Crysensio Summerville, according to ITV commentator Seb Hutchison.

As Summerville, 20, was substituted on in the second half of Leeds’ 2-0 FA Cup loss at West Ham on Sunday, Hutchison revealed that loan offers have been made for the Dutch winger.

Summerville did well after coming off the bench, offering encouragement to those bidding to land the former ADO Den Haag ace on loan.

“It is going to be Summerville coming on who has loan offers, we understand, from Blackburn and Rangers in Scotland,” said Hutchison on ITV on Sunday as Leo Hjelde made way from Summerville in the 77th minute.

Loan only

It would be a good idea for Leeds to loan Summerville out.

He’s at the age now where he needs to be getting regular minutes and he’s just not getting as many as he requires at Leeds.

Sure, Summerville is playing every now and then. He’s made eight senior appearances in all competitions this season for the Whites and even made a start against Fulham in the Carabao Cup.

But he’s only ever coming on as a substitute and those appearances are very few and far between.

If he joined Blackburn, he’d join a club that has looked after a couple of our players in the last few seasons in Barry Douglas and Ian Poveda.

Of course, Poveda has suffered an injury while on loan at Ewood Park but that means there could be a space for Summerville to go into Tony Mowbray’s squad, which is doing very well in the Championship.

Rangers are an interesting option too as if Summerville goes there, he’ll have a chance to try and win silverware and possibly play in the Europa League for fellow Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Rangers are lacking in options on the right-wing so the Netherlands Under-21s international may get plenty of opportunities in Scotland too.

In other Leeds United news, one player scored 4/10 in a shocker of a display against West Ham.
