Ben Jacobs shares Leeds United next signing view, adds update on Crysencio Summerville

Leeds United will try and sign a new full-back in the January transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Whites have already lost a full-back this month, with Luke Ayling joining Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season.

Jacobs added that there is growing interest in star winger Crysencio Summerville, who Leeds want to keep at Elland Road.

“I have good news,” Jacobs wrote on a Q&A on X. “I think Leeds will try for a full-back. Chris Mepham and Connor Roberts could both be options.

“They also want to keep hold of Crysencio Summerville. Growing interest, but since summer Leeds have been really pleased with his attitude.”

New additions?

Leeds were extremely busy in the last transfer window, with a lot of movement at Elland Road in both directions last summer.

The Whites lost a long list of important players following their relegation from the Premier League, with many first-team stars not wanting to play in the Championship due to the drop down in level.

But the newly-appointed Daniel Farke did a fine job in replacing them, with the manager bringing the likes of Joel Piroe and Ethan Ampadu to Elland Road.

Now, however, the man in the dugout could look to further strengthen his options this month as the Whites target immediate promotion back to the Premier League.

They have been going well this season, with Leeds currently sitting fourth in the Championship table with 48 points from their 26 matches.

But it is a long campaign, and Farke may need to add new faces this month in order to continue the momentum as the Whites chase down Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton.

In other Leeds United news, 49ers Enterprises have opened the door for a defender to return to Elland Road as a Whites development emerges.
