Ben Jacobs: Leeds United stand realistic chance of landing Arnaud Kalimuendo

Leeds United “stand a realistic chance” of signing PSG attacker Arnaud Kalimuendo this summer as their move for Charles De Ketelaere continues to stall according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported (8 July) that Leeds are ready to end their pursuit of De Ketelaere with the 21-year-old set on a move to AC Milan.

The Whites have set their sights on other targets with Jacobs reporting (via Twitter) on Tuesday 12 July that Leeds have enquired about the 20-year-old who would be available at £20million.

Jacobs also suggested on Wednesday 13 July that Leeds have a chance of landing the striker.

“Arnaud Kalimuendo would be an excellent signing for Leeds,” he told GIVEMESPORT.

He added: “Newcastle are tracking him too, along with Chelsea’s Armando Broja.

“Kalimuendo would be a bargain at around £20m and is a very complete forward as he is technically gifted, and always seems to find space.

“Leeds, feel they stand a realistic chance.”

Both good additions

Leeds’ desire to move for De Ketelaere has been clear for all to see but ultimately if the 21-year-old doesn’t want to move to Elland Road then they should target a striker who does want to come to the Premier League.

Even if by some miracle the Belgium international did move to Leeds it wouldn’t sit right knowing his preference was to move to Milan.

Jesse Marsch should shelve his move for the Club Brugge man and focus on Kalimuendo after the 21-year-old’s twelve goals in Ligue 1 in the 2021/22 campaign.

He would be a dynamic and physical addition at Elland Road and would certainly excite fans should he make the switch to Yorkshire this summer.

It would not be a surprise to see Leeds turn their attention to the striker in a more concrete fashion in the coming days.

Everyone has seen the pace at which Leeds are doing their business this summer and it wouldn’t be a shock to see their interest turn into a signing very quickly.

Let’s hope a striker comes through the door at Elland Road in the coming weeks.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a midfielder who was admired by Marcelo Bielsa is set to leave this summer.
