Bayern Munich want to sign Leeds United star Illan Meslier amid Inter Milan transfer interest
Bayern Munich want to sign Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier and are ready to compete with Inter Milan for his signature, according to Sport.FR.
Writing on their website (8 December), the news outlet report that the Bundesliga champions are monitoring the French ace ahead of the January window with Calciormercato journalist Mateo Barzaghi reporting (1 December) that Inter Milan are considering offering him a starting spot at the San Siro.
Meslier has been in excellent form for the Whites this season and has been an ever-present in the Championship this season as they push for promotion back to the Premier League.

“The 23-year-old French goalkeeper, whose contract with Leeds United runs until June 2026, is attracting the interest of several European clubs,” they wrote.
“With Bayern Munich also monitoring him, Inter Milan are considering offering him a starting position in the team.”
Difficult
Keeping Meslier in the summer window was definitely not something that most people expected to happen, especially considering the fact that he got dropped by Sam Allardyce at the end of last season.
But now that he is here and is a regular in the team, he is a vital cog in Daniel Farke’s side and letting him go mid-season would be a huge blow.

At the same time however Inter Milan are a side who were in the Champions League final just last season and are currently top of Serie A, while Bayern Munich are notorious for being one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world.
Manuel Neuer just signed a new deal until 2025 which would suggest he’ll be the number one until then, but Meslier could be seen as the heir to the throne and going early to acclimatise and learn from him may be something that interests him.
Hopefully Leeds can keep him until the summer at the very, very least because they need to put their own interests first and he is that important to their chances of promotion.
