Barcelona in 'advanced negotiation' to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha
Barcelona are reportedly in “advanced negotiation” to sign Raphinha from Leeds United in the summer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo (12 May, page 2), the Catalan giants have already agreed terms with the Brazilian winger, and they are waiting to find if the Whites stay up or go down at the end of the season.
In both the case, the Catalan giants will try to reduce Leeds’ asking price, with the player’s agent, Deco, handling the negotiations.
It is only a matter of time before Raphinha seals a move away from Elland Road.
Barcelona are likely his possible destination, with Deco actively working to take him to the Catalan club.
The Brazilian has been a top player for the Whites, and he deserves to play at an elite club.
Questions were raised recently over his attitude, but Jesse Marsch has suggested [as relayed by Phil Hay] that the winger is absolutely focussed in helping Leeds avoid the drop.
In another story from the same newspaper, it has been reported that Raphinha and his agent believe his move to Barcelona will be easier if the Whites go down.
Leeds are under tremendous pressure after suffering a 3-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday (11 May). They are 18th in the table, sharing the same point with Burnley but have played a game more.
With every poor result, Raphinha is inches closer to leaving the club in the summer. If Leeds get relegated, Barcelona can expect to get him at a relatively cheaper price.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared what Luke Ayling did in the dressing room after the defeat at Arsenal.
