Barcelona have 'no doubt' Raphinha will sign, expect calm negotiations with Leeds United
Barcelona have “no doubts” that Raphinha will sign for them this summer and expect “calm negotiations” with Leeds, according to Sport [June 10].
The winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou this summer, with Sport reporting on June 7th that the player was willing to go to “war” in order to get his move.
However talks have yet to begin between the clubs as Barcelona await the official confirmation of Ousmane Dembele’s departure at the end of his contract, with a renewal offer still on the table for the France international.
But according to a fresh report the Catalan club are sure that Raphinha will sign with them should Dembele leave the club as expected, having agreed a five-year deal with the 25-year-old already.
Despite no deal being agreed between the clubs Barcelona are anticipating negotiations to go smoothly with the Whites and they are absolutely ready to complete the signing.
Pay up or shut up
It’s quite simple at this point that Barcelona need to just pay up the cash or shut up talking about Raphinha.
It’s common knowledge now what the terms of the deal are. Leeds want between £60m-70m, Raphinha wants to go to play Champions League football but Barcelona don’t have the cash as it is.
The bit that is in the air is whether or not the Brazilian will kick up a fuss about the deal, but it seems unlikely after his most recent comments where he spoke about potentially staying at Elland Road.
But all this talk is doing nobody any favours. Leeds are clearly planning to have him as part of the squad until the moment they receive a bid that they deem worthy, regardless of what Barcelona have planned themselves.
There will be no discounts or cheap deals unless it somehow suits the Whites, so it’s time to stop talking and just act.
