Leeds United ‘to trigger ironic domino effect’ after Artem Dovbyk transfer update

Artem Dovbyk has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United this summer.

Concerns are emerging at Elland Road, and that is entirely down to the fact that Leeds are just six days away from the Premier League campaign and are yet to sign a striker.

Rodrigo Muniz has been heavily linked, as have several other forwards, including Dovbyk, who has also attracted interest from Sunderland.

However, with Leeds’ interest proving to be genuine, a potential deal could trigger a domino effect at Roma that would hold plenty of irony.

Leeds could be set to unlock Nikola Krstovic transfer

Leeds’ interest in Dovbyk has been reaffirmed with a report from Gianluca Di Marzio (11 August) stating that they are still keen on the transfer.

Should that go through, it would not only free up some heavy finances for Roma but also a spot in their squad for the upcoming season, which appears to be tailor-made for Nikola Krstovic.

Dovbyk’s record in his last two seasons.

Krstovic was rumoured as a strong target for the Whites, though he made it clear that he would prefer a move to the Serie A giants.

If Daniel Farke’s side can complete a deal for the Ukrainian, who netted 17 goals in all competitions last season, it would be all but nailed on that Krstovic would seal his dream move to Roma.

Farke will be losing sleep over current striker situation

Joel Piroe impressed in the Championship, but to start the season with him leading the line would represent a massive failure from the 49ers.

Added to the fact that Mateo Joseph and Manor Solomon are no longer at Elland Road, Leeds’ attack is undoubtedly weaker than it was last season, despite it being a clear priority to improve this summer.

There are still a few weeks left of the transfer window, but Leeds simply need to start accelerating their plans to recruit in the forward area.
