Arnaut Kalimuendo transfer-listed by PSG as Leeds United launch bid to sign French forward

Paris Saint-Germain director of football Luis Campos has transfer-listed Arnaut Kalimuendo amid interest from Leeds United and Newcastle United, according to MediaFootMarseille.

The French news outlet claims that OGC Nice are also in pursuit of the 20-year-old forward.

However, there’s a twist. While Campos is ready to sell Kalimuendo for over £16.9million, PSG manager Christophe Galtier has been impressed by the ex-Lens loanee’s performances in pre-season and wants to delay the decision to cash in.

It is understood that Kalimuendo “is not certain to leave” PSG and Galtier “would like to wait” before deciding on whether to cash in on the Leeds-linked youngster.

PSG at odds

Campos hasn’t been the director of football for long at PSG but it looks as though he’s already at odds with Galtier in regards to the future of Kalimuendo.

You can see why.

What are the odds of the France Under-21 international getting much first-team football next season with the wealth of talent PSG have on display in their attack.

Sure, Kalimuendo is versatile. He can play as a striker or on the left-wing while he’s also had the odd appearances as a number 10.

However, it would take a lot for him to get regular and consistent senior football next season and that could lead to his transfer value dropping a lot.

Kalimuendo has spent the last two seasons on loan at Lens and last term, he scored 12 goals in 34 Ligue 1 appearances.

He’s at his peak value in the eyes of Campos, who would no doubt be willing to sell him to Leeds while Galtier could see him as an extra option in his attack.

It doesn’t seem as though this internal debate at PSG will be concluded any time soon so Leeds may have to sit tight and wait it out.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign this “phenomenal” striker who’s seen as a “perfect” partner for Patrick Bamford.
