Leeds failed in an approach for Emi Buendia, sparking immediate concern over whether they would end the day empty-handed.
Wilson was then the subject of a permanent bid from Leeds in the latter stages of the window, though no confirmation of a deal has been received yet.

It was claimed that Leeds were closing in on the signing of Wilson, but according to Miguel Delaney via X, the deal is now in doubt.
It’s entirely unknown what has caused the difficulty, though attention will immediately turn to the 49ers, who have struggled to finalise deals all summer.
Leeds have also missed out on the signing of Manor Solomon, with the Tottenham winger heading to Crystal Palace.
For what it’s worth, Premier League clubs have until 9pm on Monday to finalise their business, though a deal sheet needs to have been submitted by the deadline, and as things stand, it’s unknown as to whether Leeds have managed that.
What Leeds deals are awaiting confirmation?
Illan Meslier could still leave Leeds on Monday, with Valencia eying a deal for the now out-of-favour goalkeeper. It remains to be seen if anything comes from that one.
Buendia’s proposed move to Elland Road fell at the first hurdle, with very little happening elsewhere.
Leeds are hanging their hopes on the deal for Wilson going through, but that is looking very, very unlikely as of right now.
Farke made it clear he wanted more arrivals at Leeds after their 0-0 draw with Newcastle, and it can only be assumed that he will be fuming at the lack of activity since those demands.
