Archie Gray stance emerges on Leeds United exit as Elland Road sales expected
Archie Gray is not expected to ask to leave Leeds United this summer, but may find a transfer “difficult to turn down”, according to Leeds-Live.
Writing on their website (30 May), the news outlet report that a “high-profile sale” is expected at Elland Road after their failure to make it back to the Premier League.
Crysencio Summerville and Gray are among the players who are expected to attract the most interest and amid talk that Premier League and European giants could move for the 18-year-old midfielder, if a significant bid was made the Whites could see their hand forced into a sale.
Leeds United must keep Archie Gray no matter what
Obviously Gray is a super-talented young player who has got phenomenal potential to go with his already existing quality, which makes him a front-runner to be sold if the club need to raise cash.
But while they are likely to make sales during the transfer window this summer, there has to be a line drawn as to who is allowed to leave and who stays and Gray simply must stay.
Not only is he the future of the club, but he has a history and connection with the fans that nobody else can match.

Summerville has just two years remaining on his contract and if he isn’t willing to pen a new deal then this may be the best opportunity to sell him for his true value, while Wilfried Gnonto should be sold after the disrespect shown to the club.
But Gray has a long-term contract, is a Leeds fan and is someone the board and manager should be building the future around. He must stay.
In other Leeds news, the 49ers have agreed to sell a minority stake in the club to Red Bull.
