Anton Stach in final stages of Leeds United transfer as another arrival hours away

Anton Stach is close to becoming the latest addition at Leeds United ahead of their Premier League return.

Stach, 26, is set to make the move to West Yorkshire from Hoffenheim and add some extra bite to Daniel Farke’s midfield.

With the German midfielder having already greenlit the move to Elland Road on his side, it was only a matter of time before Stach became a Leeds player.

Farke now has the option to play two holding midfielders in Stach and Ethan Ampadu, with Farke likely needing to adapt his style to suit the Premier League.

Stach undergoing medical ahead of Leeds move

Sean Longstaff was also recently confirmed as a United player, with the Geordie leaving his boyhood club, Newcastle, to sign for the Whites.

Whether Farke intends to make both of his new midfield signings regular starters in the Premier League remains to be seen, but the depth they provide to the German manager’s squad will be valuable.

Longstaff offers a more box-to-box option, with that profile of midfielder lacking before the 27-year-old’s arrival, whilst Stach is more likely to act as a defensive screen in front of the Whites‘ backline.

According to Graham Smyth on X (July 21), Stach’s move to LS11 is in its final stages, with the player currently undergoing a medical.

Stach’s move being on the verge of completion means Leeds supporters will likely see their new signing in action against Villarreal and AC Milan in pre-season next month.

Brenden Aaronson will also arrive at the Germany training camp on Tuesday.

Forward line must be addressed Leeds’ midfield now reinforced

Following the news that Patrick Bamford will not be a part of Farke’s squad for Leeds’ Premier League campaign, the search for a striker just became even more of a priority for the 49ers.

With Mateo Joseph’s future in West Yorkshire also being uncertain, Leeds cannot afford to leave themselves short on options in that position.

Another quality, number nine, is desperately needed, with Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha currently being Farke’s only options to lead the line.

Rodrigo Muniz has been a name frequently linked with Leeds throughout the window, with United not giving up on signing the Brazilian from Fulham despite their initial £32million bid being rejected by the Londoners.

Big changes are still planned.
