Amari Miller announces Birmingham City exit on Instagram before Leeds United confirm signing
Birmingham City teenager Amari Miller has bid his goodbyes to the Championship club as Leeds United secure his signing.
The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with the Whites in recent days, with The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath reporting on Twitter last week [27/06/21] that the youngster was not part of the Blues pre-season trip to Scotland, ahead of his move to the Premier League outfit.
Leeds were said to have beaten off interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Everton for the Birmingham-born midfielder, something that has now been confirmed by the official Leeds United Twitter account.
There was a huge clue that the deal to take Miller to Elland Road was drawing closer after a recent post on his personal Instagram profile.
He attached three images to a “Thank you Birmingham City” post, with the second slide expressing his gratitude for the opportunity the Midlands club had given him for the past eight years.

It looks like Leeds are making moves to strengthen the Under-23s side that swept all before them in last season’s successful Premier League 2 (Division 2) campaign.
The second-string outfit were crowned champions after a glorious season which saw a number of stars emerge as future first-team stars.
Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Cody Drameh were just a few talents that starred for Mark Jackson’s side during the 2020/21 campaign, and it looks like we are looking to push on and compete in the top division next season.
Miller has been earmarked as a major talent in English football, with ex-England striker Kevin Phillips calling him a “hot prospect” [Football Insider] after a season where he made five Championship appearances.
He also played all four of their pre-season fixtures last year at just 17 years of age, showing the huge faith the club had in him to progress.
Now it looks like he will be plying his trade for our Under-23s side, with the aim of joining in training with Marcelo Bielsa’s senior stars and impressing the manager.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are ready to complete the signing of this £23.2milion ace.
