Adama Traore to join either Leeds United or Tottenham if he leaves Wolves

Leeds United and Tottenham are the likely destinations for Adama Traore if the attacker quits Wolves this month, according to Eurosport.

The broadcaster reports on their website that Wolves want £40million for the 25-year-old and they would be willing to cash in on him if an acceptable offer is made.

It is understood that Liverpool need to sell players before they can afford Traore while Crystal Palace have dropped out of the race to sign him.

Eurosport reports that leaves Leeds and Spurs as the last two clubs standing in the race to sign the Spain international, who’s rejected the opportunity to sign a contract extension at Molineux.

No chance

Leeds have had a slow and quiet summer transfer window with Junior Firpo the only major new addition made to the squad.

Kristoffer Klaesson, the 20-year-old goalkeeper, has also joined Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team squad but he’s only come in as a second-choice behind Illan Meslier.

How Eurosport expect Leeds to go from such a slow and dull transfer window to one that sees them sign such an average player for £40million we don’t know.

Traore is fast, strong and helps teams get up the pitch and he does, every now and then, get involved in the goals.

However, he so rarely has an end product to his game and still seems to be living off the one good season he had in 2019/20.

Leeds have better wingers than Traore on their books already with the former Barcelona man mainly playing on the right at Wolves.

Is he better than Raphinha? Absolutely not.

Would Victor Orta spend £40million on a back-up right-winger? No way.

In other Leeds United news, a manager has spoken out about this forward after the Whites agreed personal terms with him.
