Adama Traore more likely to return to Spain on free transfer as Atletico Madrid open talks, Leeds United interested
Adama Traore is more likely to move to Spain on a free transfer at the end of the season despite long-standing interest from Leeds, according to 90min.
The Whites have long been linked with a move for the Spanish winger Traore, with director of football Victor Orta known to be a big fan of the speedster.
And with his contract at Wolves set to expire in the summer, Leeds were expected to make another move for him but a new report says Atletico Madrid have now opened talks with the ex-Barcelona man and a move back to Spain is more likely.
“Atletico Madrid have held talks with Adama Traore over a free transfer at the end of the season, 90min understands,” they wrote (28 February).
“The 27-year-old has previously been the subject of interest from Premier League sides Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur, but a return to Spain is looking a more likely option at this stage.”

Hopefully Traore’s protracted move to Atletico Madrid and La Liga will finally put an end to this ridiculous chase that Leeds have been linked with for years.
Orta is a fan of Traore because of his size and speed, but his actual footballing ability is certainly questionable at the best of times.
His dribbling is excellent, but because of his qualities he is often marked out of games by the opposition and even when he does do well his final ball lets him down far too often.
Now at 27 he is in the prime of his career, but there are big question marks about whether he would even be a starter in the Leeds team when everyone is fit.
Georginio Rutter, Luis Sinisterra, Jack Harrison, Brenden Aaronson, Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto are all fantastic options to have and all offer more than Traore does, so hopefully he’ll pen a deal elsewhere and we won’t have to be linked with him again going forward.
