Aberdeen want over £6m for Calvin Ramsay with Leeds United in pursuit of wonderkid
Aberdeen want over £6million for Calvin Ramsay as Leeds United eye up the young right-back, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reports on their website that Leeds, Leicester, Manchester United, Southampton and Tottenham all had scouts watch Ramsay, 18, play in Aberdeen’s Scottish Premiership draw with Rangers on Tuesday night [18 January].
It is understood that Aberdeen are reluctant to put a price-tag on Ramsay’s head but it will take over £6million to sign him and the Dons would also ask to take the youngster back on loan for the rest of the season.
Building for the future
If Leeds sign Ramsay this month and then send him back on loan to Aberdeen for the rest of the season, it would be a good move by the Whites.
Ramsay has been in superb form at Pittodrie this season.

The 18-year-old has supplied eight assists in 20 appearances across all competitions from the right-back position in what has been a breakthrough campaign for him at Aberdeen.
Derek McInnes has told Sky Sports, as quoted by the Mail, that Ramsay is a “terrific” player with “a really good agent who looks after him”.
The former Aberdeen manager added: “He has obviously got himself in the team this season. His best form of defending is his attacking, like most modern full backs. That will appeal to a lot of teams in England.
“I think he will go in this window. The money potentially there for Aberdeen will be tough for him to turn down. The hope for Aberdeen is that they get him back on loan, and that he will still be an Aberdeen player to help them this season.”
Leeds do need to add more depth in their full-back areas, especially to free up Stuart Dallas to play more in the midfield.
But when you look at the likes of Dallas and Luke Ayling, they are players who will need to be replaced eventually and every player in this team can be upgraded upon.
Ramsay’s had an encouraging season at Aberdeen and it would be great to beat the likes of Man United to a talented teenager like him.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have made a major bid for a player who could replace Raphinha.
