Abdoulaye Doucoure transfer: ‘Massive’ Leeds United claim emerges
Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure could potentially join Leeds United for free in the upcoming transfer window.
The Mali international’s current contract at the Toffees expires at the end of the season, possibly giving the Whites an opportunity to sign him next summer.
With Leeds clinching Premier League promotion, 49ers Enterprises must now invest in the squad to help Daniel Farke have the best chance of avoiding relegation.
The West Yorkshire outfit beat Stoke City 6-0 at Elland Road on Monday (21 April), but they still arguably need more quality in their squad to survive the rigours of the English top flight.

Leeds United need Doucoure transfer after Premier League promotion
Doucoure would massively benefit the Whites after their promotion to the Premier League, Rory Smith says.
The Athletic journalist believes the promoted teams need someone like the Mali international, who may be available on a free transfer soon.
Competition (2024/25) | Appearances | Goals | Assists |

Smith was having a conversation about the need for more top-flight experience in the Peacocks’ squad and suggested the 32-year-old midfielder as a possible signing.
Speaking on Football Daily (22 April), the journalist said: “Doucoure on a free transfer from Everton. I think a player like that would massively benefit any of the promoted teams.”
Farke needs 49ers to fund transfers at Elland Road
Now that the Whites are back in the Premier League after a two-year hiatus, Farke must ask the 49ers to put their hands in their pockets next summer.
The West Yorkshire outfit have one of the best squads in the Championship, and were expected to win automatic promotion to the English top flight.
While the American owners may be confident in the current players they have, Southampton and Leicester City’s relegations serve as an example for them.
Farke’s future at Leeds should be assessed as well, with the German manager’s Premier League record with Norwich not the most convincing.
The 48-year-old head coach has done an admirable job at Elland Road this season, but he needs to undergo some tactical evolution in the upcoming campaign.
With Southampton struggling to replicate their expansive brand of football in the top-flight, the German manager should take lessons and work on a more defensive approach against the big guns.
The summer window will arguably be pivotal at LS11.
