Aaron Ramsdale attracted by Leeds United as Elland Road transfer wanted

Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale could return to the Premier League with Leeds United next season.

The Saints’ shot-stopper was relegated from the top-flight after an abysmal campaign, but the 27-year-old was one of the Hampshire outfit’s standout players.

Daniel Farke should ask for Illan Meslier’s replacement at the Whites after seemingly losing faith in the Frenchman, leading to Karl Darlow featuring in the starting lineup towards the end of the campaign.

Ramsdale is being eyed as an option at Elland Road, and the West Yorkshire outfit may have the opportunity to seal a deal soon.

It’s been claimed that the West Yorkshire outfit are keen to sign the 27-year-old as doubts have emerged about Meslier at Elland Road.

West Ham United are another club the shot-stopper is attracted to, with Graham Potter’s team leading the race as things stand.

Farke should push for Ramsdale transfer as Meslier not good enough

Meslier’s time at Leeds has come to an end, and it would make sense for the 25-year-old to continue his career elsewhere.

The French ace is unlikely to start for the Whites in the Premier League after some significant errors in the Championship, which forced Farke to make a change.

Paraag Marathe and the recruitment team will likely consider signing a new goalkeeper as one of the priorities for the West Yorkshire outfit this summer, if they hope to avoid immediate relegation next season.

Leeds can’t trust Meslier to be their number one going into next season, and an upgrade on Darlow should also be pursued.

The Whites’ defence may need a makeover in the ongoing transfer window, with a new centre-back and a left-back evidently needed.

While Southampton have suffered relegation, they will arguably want a significant sum to let Ramsdale leave.

While the England international was relegated with the Saints, he was one of their standout players.

The shot-stopper’s qualities were evident at Arsenal, and the West Yorkshire outfit will be getting an impressive goalkeeper if they sign him.
