Leeds United want to wrap up a £10million deal for Freiburg attacker Roland Sallai on Friday morning, according to GiveMeSport.

The news outlet reported on 30 August that the Whites want to "seal a deal" for the 27-year-old forward out of fear of their move being hijacked at the eleventh hour.

It is understood that Daniel Farke is "desperate" to make signings before the 11pm deadline on Friday night with Japan midfielder Ao Tanaka and Swiss full-back Isaac Schmidt close to arriving from Fortuna Dusseldorf and St Gallen respectively.

GMS claims that Sallai is now someone who the Yorkshire giants want to sign as soon as possible as the 49ers have been "led to believe" he has offers from Germany and France.

Leeds need to get a jog on now because there's little over 12 hours left until the summer transfer window closes and Daniel Farke won't be able to make any additions until January - unless he's able to get in any free agents.

Leeds should have money to burn in the final hours of the transfer window. The issue is that other clubs know that and are trying to rip the Yorkshire side off.

Sallai is a 52-times Hungary international at the peak of his career.

He's played 137 times in the Bundesliga for Freiburg and also spent time in Serie A with Palermo earlier in his career.

It would be quite the coup for the Whites to snap him up and hopefully, they're able to bring in the versatile attacking midfielder, who can play on the wings, before the 11pm deadline.
