The 49ers may be plotting a controversial move to bring Crysencio Summerville back to Leeds United, with West Ham now ready to sell the former Whites star.

Paraag Marathe announced the first exciting piece of transfer news earlier this week, with Ethan Ampadu signing a new long-term deal, as more will soon follow.

The amount that the Whites spend on incomings this summer is currently unknown, but they could get a discount on Summerville after West Ham's relegation to the Championship.

According to The Athletic, the Hammers expect to offload the winger this summer, and there have been previous suggestions that Leeds should re-sign him.

However, if the 49ers made a move to bring Summerville back to Elland Road, the Whites fans may be split on the possibility of him returning.

This is how much Crysencio Summerville could cost West Ham

Marathe has admitted that Leeds will need to be strategic in the transfer summer, as they may need to wait another two seasons in order to operate as they wish in the transfer market.

That's perhaps a reason as to why it may seem a more attractive time to bid for Summerville, who will be available for cheaper following West Ham's relegation.

Daniel Farke is going to push for the 49ers to bring him forward players this summer, with individuals who can play in pockets behind the striker a big want.

Leeds have already been tipped to go back in and re-sign Georginio Rutter, but his former team-mate Summerville could be the cheaper and better deal.

Leeds United's fairytale dream of Georginio Rutter return is more nostalgia than pragmatism

According to recent reports in Italy, West Ham will ask for around £34.6million for the 24-year-old.

The Hammers need to raise £150m in player sales, and so poaching their best talents could appeal to Marathe and Co.

49ers could cause stir with Summerville call

The problem is that not every Leeds fan would want to see Summerville return.

The left-winger left LS11 when things got tough, and the Whites have now essentially leapfrogged him and laughed at him on their way past.

Despite this, Summerville brought Whites fans some memorable moments, and many would put negative thoughts behind them if he were to re-join.

Though the 49ers would undoubtedly cause quite the stir if they did make a move.
