£4.3m Illan Meslier offer made for Leeds exit, Premier League legend evaluates deal
Illan Meslier could finally be about to head for the exit door at Leeds United.
Daniel Farke finally lost patience with the Frenchman’s inconsistency towards the end of last season, and made a bold call to axe him from the starting XI at a crucial stage of their Championship promotion push.
Leeds have already received interest in Meslier from the likes of Lorient, who have been keen to do a deal to re-sign their former star.
It is already abundantly clear that the shot stopper has played his last game at Elland Road, and now his exit could be about to go through.

Como make £4.3m offer for Illan Meslier
Leeds’ potential valuation of Meslier has created a possible stumbling block for Lorient, which will surely mean that the West Yorkshire outfit will hope for another suitor to come forward.
They are running out of time to get the gloveman out of the door and off the wage bill before the imminent 1 September transfer deadline.
However, the Whites may have just been handed the perfect opportunity as reports of furhter interest are emerging from Italy.
Serie A side Como are understood to have made an offer worth £4.3million for Meslier, according to Il Giorno.
Cesc Fabregas’ side are trying to strengthen their goalkeeping department, and are also exploring moves for the likes of Barcelona’s Inaki Pena and Venezia’s Filip Stankovic.
They already have an offer on the table to Leeds, and Premier League legend Fabregas is understood to be evaluating the situation before he decides on whether to progress any further.

Leeds should take whatever they can get for Illan Meslier
Leeds are hoping to make their money back on Meslier, and sell him for a fee in the region of the £5m outlay that was needed to sign him.
Meslier (Championship) | Stats | Perri (Ligue 1) |
39 | Apps | 33 |
21 | Clean Sheets | 10 |
70.7% | Save Percentage | 72.5% |
1.7 | Saves per 90 | 3.5 |
-2.70 | Goals Prevented | 6.1 |
0.7 | Goals Conceded per 90 | 1.3 |
However, the Whites should surely now be willing to accept whatever they can get in order to facilitate his exit before the deadline.
Farke and Co. can be safe in the knowledge that they have secured a capable and impressive replacement in Lucas Perri, so there is now absolutely no need for Meslier to still be around as the season progresses.
His race is run at Elland Road, and as a result, the Whites may be better off accepting an insignificant loss on the transfer fee in order to save on his wages in the long-term.
