Watford want £25million for Ismaila Sarr as Leeds United are linked with signing the Senegal forward, according to Football League World.

The news outlet reported on Tuesday (9 August) that Watford have named their price for the 24-year-old with him in the final two years of his contract at Vicarage Road.

Foot Mercato reported on 2 August that Leeds are interested in signing Sarr, who could be tempted by a move to Elland Road this summer.

Sarr scored a sensational goal for Watford on Monday night (8 August) as they drew 1-1 away at West Brom in the Championship.

The former Rennes attacker netted from the halfway line and there was absolutely nothing fortunate about it because it was clear that he intended to do just that.

That’s the kind of quality he has.

Last season, Watford were relegated from the Premier League but Sarr played just 22 times.

He scored five goals and assisted twice in those appearances as the Hornets won just one of the 16 matches he was ruled out of due to various injury and selection issues.

Ex-Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster said Sarr was “frightening” and “phenomenal” on the Premier League’s YouTube channel back in September.

Sarr at least had success in winning the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, something we doubt he would have swapped anything for as Senegal won the competition for the first time, beating Egypt in the final in Cameroon.

Leeds would do well to sign Sarr – but do they need him?

He’s a winger but can play up front.

However, Leeds need a striker above all else with their wing position sorted.
