23-year-old wanted by Leeds makes decision on future amid interest from PL duo - report

Leeds United are set to miss out on Jarrod Bowen with the Hull City forward poised to join Crystal Palace, according to the Guardian.

The newspaper claims that Newcastle United also wanted to sign the 23-year-old attacker but it is understood there are indications that Palace are in a strong position to wrap up talks with Hull over a late January deal.

Leeds have been linked with Bowen all month but it seems as though their pursuit of the former Hereford player is not going to have a happy ending as the Guardian has reported he has decided he want to join a club in the Premier League.

Bowen has scored 17 goals and supplied six assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for Hull this season and there is no doubt that he would have been a fine addition to the Leeds squad before the January transfer window closes.

However Marcelo Bielsa has already confirmed that his side’s business for the month has been concluded so Leeds fans will have to settle with what they already have as they aim to seal promotion to the Premier League in the second half of the campaign.

Leeds have signed three players this month with Italian youngster Elia Caprile coming in to add to the goalkeeper ranks while Ian Poveda and Jean-Kevin Augustin have bolstered the attack.

Poveda is mainly a winger so the Whites appear to have signed him instead of Bowen as there is no doubt that the finances in a potential deal for the Hull winger would have been far in excess of what Bielsa would have had to spend.

In other Leeds United news, it has been confirmed that Victor Orta held talks with the chairman of an EFL club this month about possible signings.
