Sam Byram could force Daniel Farke into Leeds United change v Plymouth after what he did recently

Sam Byram finally got his chance at Leeds United against Bristol City, having been replaced by Jayden Bogle across the summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old finds himself in a peculiar position, mainly having been on the bench for Daniel Fakre in the current campaign.

Bogle, signed from Sheffield United this summer, hasn’t put a foot wrong and rightly deserves to be the first-choice right-back in the team.

Despite being rotated frequently last season, he is no longer being handed that chance this time around.

The Englishman doesn’t have many years left at the top of the game, and one could forgive him if he wanted a change in the coming months.

But that is not the cloth the 31-year-old seems to be cut with, and he showed why Farke must trust him more often having replaced the suspended Junior Firpo in the goalless draw against Bristol City on 26 October in the Championship.

With Firpo suspended, Farke called upon Byram to cover for the former Barcelona star as the Whites visited Ashton Gate, and he made it into the Championship Team of the Week [28 October].

The make-shift left-back was unarguably the best player on the pitch, completing 85 per cent of his passes, 80 per cent of his tackles, and 100 per cent of his duels, as per FotMob.

With Bogle now suspended for the upcoming clash with Plymouth on 2 October, he will likely get another start from Farke after shining when he was needed most.
