Leeds United star Joe Rodon outperforms every player on continent in remarkable reveal

Joe Rodon has topped an impressive statistic for Wales that highlights just how key a player he is for Leeds United.

Rodon has been praised for his physicality in defence this season, and he’s helped Leeds achieve two clean sheets in the first eleven Premier League matches.

After making a mistake in the 2-2 draw versus Bournemouth, Rodon was praised for his character for facing the media to address it.

The Welsh defender has been a pivotal part of his country’s World Cup qualifying campaign and has registered the most passes of any player.

Joe Rodon completes most passes of any European player in World Cup qualifying

Rodon has 55 caps for Wales and has emerged as one of his country’s start players in recent years.

The 28-year-old struggled to get many appearances for his country until his move to LS11, and he has not looked back ever since joining the Peacocks in 2023.

As per Opta’s Jonny Cooper on X, Rodon made 754 passes as Wales finished second in Group J, registering more than any other player in European qualifying for the next World Cup.

He has only misplaced 25 of his passes in those seven matches, and it’s a testament to how assured he remains on the ball for both club and country.

His growth at Leeds has been remarkable, and he has developed into a top-quality centre-back under Daniel Farke’s tutelage, with his reliability shining through.

Rodon hasn’t missed a minute in the Premier League, and he is the only player to achieve this for the Peacocks this season.

Rodon will take part in the World Cup playoffs in March as Wales look to qualify for the showpiece event for the third time in their history.

Joe Rodon needs a reliable centre-back partner

Farke has chopped and changed between Jaka Bijol and Pascal Struijk this season, and it has perhaps created some uncertainty for Rodon.

Bijol has been impressive since coming into the starting lineup, while Farke seems to have made up his mind on Struijk’s ability to consistently play in the top flight.

Of course, it takes time to build a reliable partnership at the back, but Leeds don’t have time to adapt to new developments.

As they look to become the first promoted team to avoid relegation since 2022-23, Rodon will need to have the same centre-back playing alongside him week in, week out to give the Peacocks the best chance of staying up.
