Leeds United star cements starting place after what he achieved in Bournemouth draw
Leeds United picked up another point at home to Bournemouth on Saturday.
Leeds’ win against Wolves was all about Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and this weekend’s draw at home to Bournemouth revolved around another summer addition.
Leeds secured a point in their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, with one man in particular stealing the headlines for the Whites.
After such a dominant display against a well-drilled Bournemouth side, his place in the starting 11 is secure for weeks to come.

Leeds United have a gem with Sean Longstaff
Longstaff has already shown shades of Kalvin Phillips in his game, and that midfield spot is now his to lose after his display against the Cherries.
He was everywhere for the Whites, once again covering an incredible amount of ground in what was a solid team display up until the 93rd minute.
However, his tenacity in the middle of the park was what made him stand out, with seven chances created and 10 duels won.
Longstaff’s stats vs Bournemouth
- 88% pass accuracy
- 7 chances created
- 78% cross-accuracy
- 10 duels won
- 6 tackles
Longstaff became the first player in Leeds history to record those stats in a single game, according to Jonny Cooper and Opta.
Ao Tanaka was many Leeds fans’ one to watch this season, though he now faces a remarkably difficult task of getting back into the team.
Sean Longstaff is a nailed-on starter for Leeds
Given some of the names linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer, the addition of Longstaff was a fairly underwhelming one on paper.
However, his performances over the last few games have dispelled that myth, and he is very quickly establishing himself as the heart of this Leeds team.
His experience is clear, and that is often the difference for newly-promoted sides looking to win their battles in midfield, and for Leeds, they have an absolute gem to do that for them.
Anton Stach has been the standout singing for the Whites so far this season, though Longstaff is certainly catching up with the German in terms of early influence
