Leeds United predicted XI vs Wolves after major Willy Gnonto blow

Daniel Farke has decisions to make ahead of Leeds’ away encounter with Wolves on Saturday.

With hopes of picking up their first away win of the season, Leeds travel to Molinuex to face Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Off the back of Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Fulham, Farke will be looking for a response, and more than anything, will be looking to see his side score only their second goal of the season.

However, their chances of doing that were hindered massively by the latest injury update to have emerged from Elland Road.

Willy Gnonto and Dan James set to miss Wolves clash

For a side that have struggled in the final third, the last thing they needed was to have injuries in that area of the pitch.

Unfortunately, that proved to be the case when Farke confirmed that Dan James and Willy Gnonto are doubts for Leeds this weekend.

Speaking in his press conference on Thursday, he said: “We have a few doubts for this game. Dan James is a major doubt.

“Also, Willy Gnonto is a doubt, struggling with some calf problems.”

Neither started last time out, but given Brenden Aaronson’s failure to impress against Fulham, one of them would almost certainly have been drafted back into the starting 11.

Now, Farke faces a dilemma, and it could see him bring Jack Harrison back into the fold at Leeds.

Daniel Farke to give Jack Harrison final chance

Farke simply cannot start Aaronson this weekend, and the next best option is to utilise Harrison from the start.

It would be his first start for Leeds since a defeat to Tottenham in 2023, but it would surely be the best option.

Other than that, it’s hard to see the German making too many changes from the side that fell to defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin still has a point to prove for Leeds, while Noah Okafor is looking to get off the mark after joining from AC Milan in the summer window.

It should remain an unchanged backline.
