Leeds United: Georginio Rutter joins Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez on elite list
Leeds United ace Georginio Rutter has joined Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez on an elite list after something he did against Plymouth Argyle.
Rutter assisted Crysencio Summerville’s strike after coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 FA Cup fourth-round replay win that went to extra time.
In doing so, the France Under-21s international has now assisted 10 goals from open play in all competitions for Leeds this season.
As raised by Opta’s Jonny Cooper on Twitter [6 February], only Nunez has done likewise across all Premier League and Championship players.
What is Georginio Rutter’s best position?
Rutter struggled in his first half-season at Elland Road upon joining in a big-money deal last January, but he has showed his class this campaign.
The fan favourite has been used as both a number 10 and a number nine, chipping in with five goals to go with those double-digit assists.
As a creative player who can seemingly make something possible out of nothing, it is no surprise Daniel Farke used him in a deeper position.

Leeds also have Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe – himself a hybrid player capable of playing multiple positions – so Farke has many options.
United fans were already aware of just how talented Rutter is, and now this statistic only highlights that for many others to see. Wherever he is used, Rutter tends to make his impact felt.
In other Leeds United news, Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil disagreed as they made their Championship promotion predictions.
