Leeds United: Daniel Farke puts himself in Don Revie league as Elland Road sack calls silenced
Leeds United have achieved something under Daniel Farke that they had not previously managed dating back to the Don Revie days.
The Whites cruised to a 4-0 victory against Swansea City on Tuesday (13 February) to make it seven Championship victories in a row.
Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe were on the scoresheet, while Wilfried Gnonto continued his good run with a couple of goals.
That victory was Leeds’ 20th in 32 league outings this season, which is the earliest they have hit that figure since 1970-71 [Opta’s Jonny Cooper].
Leeds United climb up Championship table
Revie’s side that season hit the 20 wins milestone in their 30th game when going on to finish second in Division One, as it was known then.
United have spent 28 campaigns in the top flight since then, three in the third tier and the rest in what is now known as the Championship.
Regardless of the division, no team between that Revie iteration and Farke’s current group have performed so well by this stage.
Leeds now find themselves second in the table after a rare slip-up from Southampton away at Bristol City the same evening, although the Saints have a game in hand.

Despite this incredible run of form, and the impressive victories tally overall this season, United still have plenty of work ahead of them.
Achieve the ultimate aim of automatic promotion and Farke will have his name chanted around Elland Road much the same as Revie.
And to think it was only six weeks ago, on the back of quickfire losses to Preston and West Brom, that many Leeds fans wanted the German out of Elland Road. Those sack calls have been silenced in quite the fashion.
In other Leeds United news, Adam Pope has shared what made Farke “really annoyed” last week.
