Leeds United have Premier League omen to overcome vs Burnley
Leeds United are looking to break the trend when they travel to face Burnley this weekend.
Leeds United return to Premier League action on Saturday, having suffered a defeat at home to Tottenham last time out.
Their form at Elland Road is going to be crucial to their chances of survival this season, having picked up five of their eight points there so far.
However, points on the road will also play a pivotal role in the success that they can find in this campaign, and if they are to add to that against the Clarets, they will have to overcome an omen that has become a trend in the Premier League.

Burnley are favourites to beat Leeds
Not only has the supercomputer predicted a defeat for Leeds against Burnley, but Premier League history also showcases the challenge that they are set to face.
On each of the last three occasions, two promoted sides have faced off against each other, the home side has won, with Burnley’s 2-0 win over Sunderland the most recent example of that.
Since 2012, there haven’t been more than three home wins in a row in situations like this, though the record prior to that is slightly more appealing.
Taking the most recent encounters out of the equation, 11 of the last 19 clashes between promoted sides have ended in a victory for the away side, with five draws as well.

However, that isn’t the only record that Leeds will be looking to change this weekend, with another feat not seen since Jesse Marsch in 2022.
Leeds United looking to win back-to-back away games
Leeds beat Wolves 3-1 on their last away trip, which was their first three points of the season not at Elland Road.
Should the Whites be able to replicate that result this weekend, it will see them win back-to-back away games in the Premier League for the first time since 2022.
That was back when Marsch was in charge, when an ironic 3-2 victory against Wolves was followed by a 3-0 victory away to Watford.
However, if that is to be achieved again this season, Leeds may need to score more than one, having kept just one clean sheet in their last 24 away games in the top flight.
