Leeds United have blueprint to stop Brentford goal threat after what’s happened
Daniel Farke could continue experimenting with his formations at Leeds United against Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Gtech Community Stadium will host Farke’s team on 14 December, with the Whites looking to maintain their distance from the relegation zone.
Liverpool were held back at Elland Road on 6 December after the West Yorkshire outfit beat Chelsea at home, and fans in LS11 will hope the unbeaten run continues.
The Peacocks will certainly be wary of Igor Thiago, who has scored 11 goals in 15 league matches this season, and they may have the blueprint to do so.

Leeds United to stifle Igor Thiago like Tottenham
Thiago started and played 90 minutes against Tottenham in Brentford’s 2-0 loss in their previous league game.
Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven were resolute against the Bees at home, stifling the Brazilian striker from testing Guglielmo Vicario.
The 24-year-old had just one shot on target at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was saved by the Italian goalkeeper.
Apart from the one big chance on target that Thiago missed, which had an xG of 0.45, he wasn’t able to do much, with just three shots in the entire game, as per Sofascore.
Jaka Bijol has been exceptional for Farke in recent matches, and it wouldn’t be surprising to continue partnering Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk in the backline.
The key to stopping Thiago may lie in stopping him from getting going, with the centre-forward completing just 50 per cent of his passes in the opposition half against Spurs, losing 10 of his duels and completing just 50 per cent of his dribbles.
Wilfried Gnonto set for unorthodox role vs Brentford
Wilfried Gnonto won Leeds’ penalty against Liverpool, which kick-started the comeback.
Farke’s substitutions worked wonders for the Whites at Elland Road, and the Italian youngster may have played himself into the starting lineup.
| Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes played |
| 8 | 0 | 2 | 306 |
Noah Okafor started in a front two with Dominic Calvert-Lewin amid Lukas Nmecha’s injury, but the Swiss national may be replaced by Gnonto in West London.
The German manager had to revert to a back four after going two goals down against Arne Slot’s team, but it would make sense to stick with the 5-3-2 formation, which gives the West Yorkshire outfit more defensive stability.
