Leeds United have a selection headache after ‘huge’ Manor Solomon display v Belgium

Daniel Farke may have a selection dilemma on his hands after the performance of Leeds United ace Manor Solomon in Israel’s 1-0 Nations League win against Belgium on Sunday.

Solomon helped his country to an “amazing” victory against Domenico Tedesco’s team on 17 November despite the Tottenham loanee playing in a more defensive role for his country.

In fact, the attacker’s performance was so strong that Israeli outlet One News (17 November) dubbed him one of the “diamonds” of the team.

“Manor Solomon in a huge performance proved together with Oskar Gloch why they became the diamonds of the team,” they wrote.

Daniel Farke now has a choice to make at Leeds United

Since the attacker’s recent return from injury, he hasn’t managed to pick up his form from before he was sidelined and has left a lot to be desired regarding his performances over the last couple of weeks.

This is a major contrast between now and the start of the season when Neil Redfearn deemed to attacker to be too good for the Championship.

Thanks to his performance against Belgium, however, the Israel international could find himself back in Farke’s starting XI more consistently at some point shortly.

As per Sofascore, in the 90 minutes Solomon was on the pitch, he had 55 touches of the ball and maintained a pass accuracy of 79 per cent.

He also cleared the ball once, made four tackles and was only dribbled past five times. In terms of ground and aerial duels, Solomon put in yet another decent effort.

Of the 19 ground duels he attempted 11 of them were successful and for those in the air, he failed to complete any.

Attacking-wise, he was also solid. The winger completed 100 per cent of the dribbles he attempted and made two key passes in the clash.

This selection of statistics alone feels like reason enough for Farke to perhaps consider giving him another chance before making a final decision about his future.
