Leeds United encouraged as promising new Dominic Calvert-Lewin stat emerges
Leeds United continue to prove the doubters wrong after another good result against Bournemouth on Saturday.
All eyes are now on Leeds’ next Premier League game against Tottenham, as Daniel Farke looks to defeat Thomas Frank once again.
Leeds do have a poor record against Tottenham; however, Spurs have shown cracks in their defence, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be key again.
Calvert-Lewin impressed against Wolves, grabbing his first goal for Leeds, as a new stat shows how important the striker could be for Farke.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin joins Erling Haaland in the top three for shots on target in the Premier League
Calvert-Lewin had good spells with Everton, but he also had struggles towards the back end of his time with the Toffees.
His best season, however, came in the 2020-21 campaign when he scored 16 goals in the Premier League.
His performances that season earned him call-ups for England, with his last appearance for his country coming in 2022.
Player | Shots on target per 90 |
Erling Haaland | 2.30 |
Callum Wilson | 2.10 |
Dominic Calvert-Lewin | 2.00 |
Calvert-Lewin comes in at third place after six Premier League games for the average shots on target registered per 90 minutes.

The stat is a compliment to not just Calvert-Lewin but also shows the success Leeds are having in creating chances for the striker.
Calvert-Lewin’s stat shows he will score goals for Leeds
Leeds have suffered a blow with Dan James’ injury; however, they still have other wide players such as Noah Okafor and Jack Harrison who can provide service for Calvert-Lewin.
The striker has missed some big chances, particularly in his debut against Sheffield Wednesday, but the encouraging thing is that he is getting into the right positions.
Calvert-Lewin missed a large portion of game time last season for Everton, and all he needs now is a solid run of games to get back to his best.
