Leeds United chasing Premier League milestone last achieved in 2022

Leeds United can rewrite their own history when they face Bournemouth.

Bournemouth may be favourites for their clash with Leeds this weekend, but if history is anything to go by, the Whites will give a good account of themselves.

These two sides have faced off against each other 15 times, with Leeds winning on 11 occasions, though the last encounter ended in a heavy defeat.

However, if Leeds can carry on their impressive record against the Cherries on Saturday, and do so by a margin, they could achieve something for the first time in almost three years.

Leeds may have addressed goal-scoring concerns

Right at the start of the season, goals were a major concern for Leeds, and questions were asked as to where they would come from in the Premier League.

After an emphatic victory against Wolves, they have somewhat been answered after Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his first Leeds goal, as did Noah Okafor.

With three goals scored at Molineux, the Whites will be full of confidence and momentum ahead of their clash with the Cherries, and if they can show that clinical ability again in front of goal, it could be a special day.

Leeds’ attacking stats this season

The last time Leeds scored three or more goals in back-to-back Premier League games was in November 2022, when a 4-3 win against Bournemouth was followed by a 4-3 defeat to Tottenham.

Jesse Marsch was the manager of Leeds then, with Farke looking to make that record his own this weekend at Elland Road.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin needs regular service at Leeds

Keeping Calvert-Lewin fit will be Leeds’ main priority, but after that, it will be the supply to him that needs to be looked at.

The 28-year-old thrived against Wolves and took his goal very well, and if Leeds can replicate that type of service throughout the campaign, they have the striker that a newly-promoted side needs to stay in the division.

It’s early days, and after all, he has only scored once, but the signs from the clash at Molineux were certainly promising going forward.
