Leeds manage something not seen in four years at Elland Road vs Bournemouth

Leeds’ unbeaten home form continued on Saturday against Bournemouth.

Leeds’ 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at Elland Road was a really good performance from Daniel Farke’s side, but they couldn’t hold on for the win.

Farke will be disappointed that his team didn’t get three points, but will be proud of the fact that they had Bournemouth on the ropes for long periods.

Leeds know that home form will be crucial for their survival, and picking up points against teams like the Cherries will be key.

Leeds dominant in attack against Bournemouth

Leeds caused Bournemouth all sorts of problems at Elland Road on Saturday, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin having some great chances to score.

The Whites’ attacking dominance was obvious, as they peppered the Bournemouth goal for long periods of time.

According to BBC Sport, Leeds hit eight shots on target during the game, last directing more shots on target in a single Premier League game in September 2021 against Newcastle United (9).

Goals from Joe Rodon and Sean Longstaff were an example of the threat that Leeds can have from all areas, but they need to take advantage of their opportunities more.

Calvert-Lewin needs to keep being supported, and eventually the consistent run of goals will come for him, which will, of course, help the team.

Leeds must continue Elland Road run

Leeds’ home form has been one of the positives from the season so far.

They’ve faced tricky tests at Elland Road, but have remained unbeaten in their first three games, which will need to continue.

Leeds welcome Tottenham to West Yorkshire next as they look to extend their unbeaten run to four games.

If Leeds are to survive this Premier League campaign, their home form must continue as it has started.

They obviously won’t go the entire season unbeaten, but if they can make Elland Road a horrible place for opponents to play, it will be a huge help to securing their Premier League status for next season.
