Leeds can now inflict 25-year first on Chelsea ahead of Stamford Bridge showdown
Leeds’ quest for Premier League survival will take a difficult turn as they travel away to face Chelsea, with a record on the line for the home team.
At the moment, Daniel Farke has built a six-point gap from the drop, but maintaining that distance could be tough in the coming weeks.
The fixtures are not getting any easier for the Elland Road club, with showdowns against Aston Villa and Manchester City following their trip to London.
However, Farke will be going into the next match with some confidence, after Leeds beat 3-1 Chelsea earlier in the season.
Although that was under a different manager, it now means the Peacocks can inflict a 25-year first on the Blues.
Leeds are looking to complete Premier League double over Chelsea
Farke will not have an easy time against Chelsea, as Liam Rosenior has been doing a great job at Stamford Bridge, with him currently on a four-game Premier League win streak.
Tuesday’s game is another massive fixture for both teams, as three points for Leeds could see them extend their safety net to nine points as West Ham face an in-form Manchester United.
Additionally, Chelsea will be looking to maintain their spot in the Champions League places. The permutations make the case for an enthralling affair.

If Leeds were to win, they would hand the London club a record they have not had in 25 years. Chelsea have not lost twice to a promoted side in the same season since 2000-2001.
In that season, Charlton Athletic completed the league double over the London club, and now Leeds can do the same.
Right now, Leeds’ hopes of survival are looking good, but that could change over the coming weeks with plenty of football still to play.
What is Leeds’ record at Stamford Bridge?
Stamford Bridge is a notoriously bad ground for the Peacocks, who have not won there in the Premier League since a 2-0 win in December 1999.
They will certainly have it all to do, with their record since then largely ending in a disappointing day in west London.
Following that win, Leeds have drawn one and lost seven in their last eight games at Stamford Bridge.
Farke will have to provide something special if his team are to cause another shock. His team has also been poor away from Elland Road.
Leeds have won just one game on the road this season, with that victory coming against bottom strugglers Wolves back in September.
However, while the away form is a concern, Alan Shearer believes Leeds’ home performance will keep them up.
Let’s hope for a positive result here.
