Daniel Farke has Leeds United promotion wildcard, he deserves more credit
Leeds United sit just one place off the Championship summit and Jayden Bogle deserves more credit for his role in what they’ve achieved so far.
Under the stewardship of Daniel Farke, the Whites have had a good season with Ao Tanaka being the standout player earning most of the plaudits but Bogle’s influence often gets overlooked.
The ex-Sheffield United defender can be unstoppable on his day as showcased in November’s encounter against QPR and those kinds of performances will put Leeds in excellent stead to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
Jayden Bogle deserves more appreciation at Leeds United
While attacking players will also be under the brighter spotlight, the influence of your defensive players often gets overlooked and in Bogle’s case, far too much.
The full back is one of the best, if not the best, in the Championship and he has played a crucial role for the Whites without receiving the appreciation he has deserved.
According to FotMob, Bogle has completed 614 passes in his 19 Championship appearances (78.5 per cent accuracy) showcasing his influence in transition.
While his completion rate isn’t exceptional, the type of passes often attempted can be the difference between a counter-attack or safer possession and his willingness to take risks pays off more often than not.
Added to that, the 24-year-old has completed 16 dribbles in the Championship, a tally bettered by only 7.9 per cent of players in his position and that has proven key in several encounters with his ability to drive his team up the pitch.
Offensively he has thrived as well, having notched on two occasions while registering just one assist from an xA (expected assists) of 2.81. His creativity has been somewhat hampered by a poor finishing ability showcased by forwards.
In a defensive sense, Bogle has also thrived. The Whites star was won a remarkable 108 defensive duels so far this campaign, 24 of which have been in the air.

With 26 tackles and 63 defensive recoveries, he has contributed massively to the strong record Leeds have at the back which is bettered by only two sides in the league.
His role in the side is crucial at both ends of the pitch and there is very little more he needs to do to earn the recognition that he deserves.
In other Leeds United news, one player is likely to leave Elland Road in the summer.
