Farke must axe Brenden Aaronson in Leeds v Luton, he is all talk and no action

Daniel Farke must axe Brenden Aaronson from the Leeds United starting lineup against Luton on Wednesday.

The Whites faithful would have been buzzing after Aaronson’s desire to grab 15 goals and as many assists this season – a feat last achieved in the Championship by Emiliano Buendia in the 2020-21 season – recently came to light [GOAL].

However, for someone with such lofty aims, the 24-year-old has been underwhelming for Farke’s side on several occasions, with only four goals and an assist to show for his 17 appearances across all competitions, and does not warrant a place in the starting XI anymore.

Brenden Aaronson is all mouth, Farke must axe him in Leeds v Luton

Aaronson played the full 90 minutes in the 4-3 win against Swansea on Sunday [24 November], but was merely a passenger as he completed just 19 passes and created just one chance, according to FotMob.

The United States international struggled to do anything positive on the ball despite registering 42 touches and completing two of his three dribbles [67 per cent].

Furthermore, only Jayden Bogle [18] and Sam Byram [16] lost the ball more times than the former Red Bull Salzburg star [14] among Leeds players, as per Sofascore.

Winning one of his two tackles, meanwhile, was his only contribution in defence. He recorded a 50 per cent success rate in duels, winning five of his 10 duels.

Aaronson’s performance in Wales drew severe criticism from Jon Newsome, who is convinced the attacker is not good enough for the Elland Road outfit.

It is high time that Farke dropped the American, who has started in each of Leeds’ last 14 league games, from his lineup.

In other Leeds United news, a pundit has been impressed with the Whites’ interest in this player, dubbing it an ambitious move.
