Dominic Calvert-Lewin on course to achieve monumental career first in Leeds vs Sunderland
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has become one of the most in-form players in the Premier League.
Calvert-Lewin has scored six goals in his last five Leeds matches, a run which has helped propel Daniel Farke’s side away from the relegation zone.
The 28-year-old had a slow start to life in LS11, but the change of system to a 3-5-2 has completely reversed his fortunes, and as a result, Farke’s side are reaping the rewards.
Calvert-Lewin is now being touted for an England call-up after his recent resurgence, and he is quickly emerging as one of the signings of the summer after joining on a free transfer.
Leeds face a trip to Sunderland on Sunday, and the English striker has a brilliant chance to extend his impressive scoring run.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s scoring run can reach new highs vs Sunderland
The 28-year-old scored twice in Leeds’ 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace last time out, becoming the first Whites star to score in five successive games since Mark Viduka back in 2003.
Unsurprisingly, he could match another club record if he finds the back of the net against the Black Cats.
Calvert-Lewin is looking to score in six Premier League appearances in a row for the first time in his career.
The last Leeds player to score in six top-flight games in a row was John McCole in the 1959-60 campaign.
| Stat | Calvert-Lewin |
| Matches | 15 |
| Goals | 7 |
| Shots | 33 |
| Expected goals | 6.32 |
The Whites are on a four-match unbeaten run, and Calvert-Lewin’s goals have directly helped them climb out of the relegation zone and establish a six-point gap over West Ham.
Calvert-Lewin faces a completely different challenge against Dan Ballard
Sunderland are unbeaten at the Stadium of Light since returning to the Premier League, and their home has become a fortress, to say the least.
The towering defender has won 95 ground duels and 60 aerial duels, while also winning 17 fouls in the top flight this season.
Although his main threat is from offensive set-pieces, he has bullied the likes of Nick Woltemade and Georginio Rutter in recent weeks.
Calvert-Lewin is in the form of his life, although if there is one defender he doesn’t want to come up against at the moment, it’s the physically dominant Ballard.
This battle will be key to the three points.
